Green hydrogen projects in Morocco are feasible and bankable! This was underlined by Tarik Hamane, CEO of the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN) at their Roadshow-Event in Berlin on 13 July 2023 hosted by the Green Hydrogen Business Alliance. The project is part of the German Moroccan Hydrogen Partnership and a milestone in international development cooperation as well as the market ramp-up of green hydrogen and power-to-x as highlighted by Benjamin Knoedler, Head of Department “Private Sector Engagement” at BMZ and Ellen von Zitzewitz, Deputy Head of Department, responsible for the energy and climate partnerships at BMWK.
The roadshow enabled a close dialogue between the private sector, the project sponsor Masen and the project financier KfW with the goal of a predictable and transparent environment in the upcoming tender process with the least possible risks for private stakeholders.
