As part of our ongoing collaboration with the Namibian Standards Institution, the Green Hydrogen Business Alliance was proud to facilitate a local study tour from 26 to 28 March 2025.
The tour is the continuation of a journey that began with our recently published Scoping Study and aligns with a broader national roadmap to ensure that Namibia’s green hydrogen sector is built on robust, fit-for-purpose industrial standards and internationally aligned sustainability certifications.
Over three intensive days, NSI visited HyIron, Cleanergy Solutions Namibia, HDF Energy Namibia, and the Daures Green Hydrogen Village – the country’s leading GH2 projects. These site visits weren’t just about observing progress. They offered a unique platform for NSI to:
- Directly engage with developers and see technologies in action
- Assess the evolving needs of this fast-moving sector from a standards perspective
- Share the value NSI brings from testing and certification to ensuring safety and quality in line with its national mandate
More importantly, this was an opportunity for NSI to ground its role in real-world applications, ensuring the standards we develop together are not only technically sound but truly responsive to industry needs.
It’s a powerful reminder that strong partnerships and open dialogue are key to move partner countries like Namibia from vision to implementation in the green hydrogen space.
