H2BA at the Global African Hydrogen Summit

H2BA was proud to showcase our ongoing efforts to drive a just and inclusive green hydrogen transition in Namibia and beyond at the Global African Hydrogen Summit in Windhoek.

The Green Hydrogen Business Alliance convened a high-level discussion with a keynote address by Namibia’s Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy Gaudentia Kröhne. Key topics included project financing costs as a bottleneck for project realisation, the role of contracts for difference, and regional collaboration to support offtake and value addition.

There was strong consensus: multilateral efforts to de-risk projects remain essential for advancing Africa’s green hydrogen future.

H2BA also shared an overview of the Green Hydrogen Business Alliance’s work since the start of our activities in Namibia in 2023, highlighting our H2BA Masterclass series and two flagship studies on localizing green industries and gH2 standards & certification.

It was inspiring to see so many graduates of our masterclass programme (Green Hydrogen Youth Ambassadors) in the audience underscoring the enthusiast and eagerness of the next Namibian generation of leaders.

H2BA is deeply encouraged by the momentum and shared commitment across governments, industry, and youth leaders. The path forward is clear: collaboration will be the driver of success in the global hydrogen market ramp-up.
