New Publication: An Introduction to Green Hydrogen Quality Infrastructure

To combat climate change and promote economic growth, many countries are turning their attention to green hydrogen (GH2), which has emerged as a pivotal player in the transition to a low-carbon economy. However, the successful implementation of a hydrogen strategy also depends on the establishment of a robust Quality Infrastructure (QI). In the hydrogen sector, a well-developed QI is essential to mitigate the risks associated with the entire GH2 value chain. By fostering confidence in the conformity of GH2 products, processes, and services, QI plays a vital role in facilitating market acceptance and promoting global trade of hydrogen and its derivatives.

This document aims to provide a concise overview of Quality Infrastructure (QI) and offers insights into effective QI practices. It examines the experiences of three countries – Germany, Tunisia, and South Africa – each country differing in the extent of their QI.

The provided information is intended to help stakeholders understand the significance of QI in advancing hydro-gen strategies and assist countries in developing, improving, or adapting their QI for transition to a low-carbon economy.
