At the invitation of State Secretary for Development Jochen Flasbarth, the signatories of the ‘Hamburg Declaration on the Decarbonisation of Global Shipping’ and the ‘Hamburg Declaration on Green Aviation’ were meeting on the fringes of the Berlin Energy Transition Week at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in Berlin.
At the Hamburg Sustainability Conference in October 2024, pioneering companies along the entire value chain agreed to intensify their cooperation on the decarbonisation of aviation and shipping. Now, four new companies have joined the two alliances including Eternal Power, EDL Anlagenbau, ENERTRAG, and FRIENDSHIP SYSTEMS. Together, the partners of the Hamburg Declarations on Shipping and Aviation are putting the alliances into practice and creating an effective working structure with a permanent secretariat and specific implementation groups.
